Very cute and quaint city farm that has managed to tetris itself around some railway tracks. Perfect for a little outing. Free admission but PLEASE DONATE !
Finally got to meet Shirley and the other cute animals at the farm. From one city farm worker to another they're doing great but all the support is greatly appreciated if you are able!
It was very small, but I would still recommend going if you're in the area. You can't feed the animals or touch them and the horses aren't on site (construction of their area), but overall it was lovely for a quick outing. It was a bit confusing at first because it looks closed and I don't remember seeing any staff. You just sort of walk in the unlocked door and look around on your own. You just have to wash your hands before entering and can sign a visitor book.
It was a wet and dismal day when we visited, so the animals were mostly inside their barns and there wasn't anything in the upper fields. There was also a landslide at this end, so there are no horses there now either. It was slightly bigger than expected and had some signs of enterprise (Cafe open later in the day and a Christmas fayre on tomorrow).
All in all fairly basic, but probably not a great time of year to visit. Kids may be disappointed as you are not allowed to touch any of the animals, although I believe they have special times for that, so organise your visit if you want to include that.
Growing club is awesome. We are currently building up the community garden. Lovely volunteers, nice and knowledgeable. Kids are welcome
I love it here, the atmosphere is really calming and the animals are all beautiful and so so sweet. The volunteers are all lovely too. Really recommend going to the farm to relax and meet some friendly animals. The meditating goats are my favorite. To the ones complaining about no horses, the horses are on holiday at the moment but will be back 😊
A wonderful little hidden oasis of nature nestled between the railway lines and the surrounding urban sprawl. The staff were perfectly happy to just let us wander around and explore at our leisure. The animals are all very charming and you can pet the larger livestock. We particularly loved Shirley the Cow, Nora and Dora the Donkeys, and Darth Vader the black Cockerel. Great place for kids and adults alike.
This is such a wonderful resource to have in the neighborhood. It’s truly a local treasure. My two boys, 2 & 4 years old loved it. There’s even a hidden garden that my little stinkers would steal strawberries (the management said it was ok to have one or two) and there’s a bountiful cherry tree as well. It’s in between train tracks too so we’d watch trains go by and see the animals. So perfect for little ones.
This place is brilliant. Very well set up, huge range of animals to see & you can even hand feed the goats and sheep with food supplies on site. Beats Kentish Town & Hackney farms I would say quite some way. You can get up close to the animals & they have a bigger range. There's also a huge cafe on site & a massive park opposite where you can see the horses and other bunch of animals that the farm has to offer you.
